I think that Martine would never know what it feels like going to some place on the opposite side of the world. I also think that Martine would never know her grandma.
If Martine never went to Africa then probaly she'll still be living with her teacher,and if she didn;t go then she won't even know about the white giraffe,plus she'll still be going to her school and wouldn't even know the poeple she know's now like Tendia.
She would be very scard and would be loney becaus she would not have her mom and dad. I bet she would still be living with her teacher in sted of her grandma.
She would of probubly stay with that other family and thay would probubly ofer her to be apart of the family.
